Valparaiso’s chapter of the women’s charitable organization Tri Kappa held its inaugural Trivia Night Thursday, September 20, 2018. Aberdeen Manor, 216 Ballantrae in Valparaiso. It was a full house, as 28 teams totaling 225 guests competed for bragging rights and prizes. A raffle and silent auction added to the entertainment. Nearly $15,000 was raised for the community, with 100% of profits going back into Valparaiso community programs.
The event, co-chaired by Carolyn Biesen and Sandie Van Laan, was successful due to community support from participants, as well its generous sponsors and partners:

As a volunteer organization of more than 100 members, Tri Kappa focuses their efforts on charity, culture, and education. Each year, the group awards more than $16,000 in college scholarships to local high school students and nearly $10,000 in grants and allocations to non-profit groups in Porter County. Trivia Night is one of many fundraisers contributing to these endeavors.
